Each Tiger coat is hand woven in the tapestry technique with metallic thread. The size of each coat is 42" in width and 22" in length and woven in 2007. I have tried to use the coloration that the Tibetan's are so fond of, red, green, blue, orange, purple, yellow, black and white. I have woven eight coats with body of the coat a solid color with the tiger's pattern of stripes in a contrasting color. Each coat's interior is woven in a burgundy red (the color found on monastery's walls in Eastern Tibet). The eight different tiger designs were found in the interior wall paintings of monasteries I had visited in Tibet in 2006. Titles of coats: |
