Tiger Coat Series

Each Tiger coat is hand woven in the tapestry technique with metallic thread. The size of each coat is 42" in width and 22" in length and woven in 2007.

I have tried to use the coloration that the Tibetan's are so fond of, red, green, blue, orange, purple, yellow, black and white. I have woven eight coats with body of the coat a solid color with the tiger's pattern of stripes in a contrasting color. Each coat's interior is woven in a burgundy red  (the color found on monastery's walls in Eastern Tibet). The eight different tiger designs were found in the interior wall paintings of monasteries I had visited in Tibet in 2006.
